Thanks to the support of Open Society Institute from Budapest Network Committee for Human Rights in Serbia CHRIS, realises one-year project "Practice in the field of human rights ".
In the implementation of this project research is carried out on the problems of further social integration of Roma national minority in Serbia.Representatives of Network CHRIS have on Thursday, July 22nd, as part of research carried out by Alla Leukavets, profesional associate of Network CHRIS, had meetings with representatives of several local institutions and organizations in Negotin.
The first meeting was held at the Centre for Social Welfare in Negotin, where the director and pedagogue of the Centre explained the program of social protection in the local community, as well as various programs and projects in which the Centre participated.
In addition to the Centre for Social Welfare, the meeting was held with representatives of municipalities from Bor and Negotin, where representatives of the Bor municipality have highlighted the examples of good practice on improving the situation of Roma, and thus opened the possibility for cooperation between both towns, as well as cooperation with Network Chris.
With a meeting at the office of the Committee for Human Rights in Negotin visit was complited, and a team of Network had an opportunity to talk to representatives of the Roma minority about specific problems which their fellow citizens face every day in Negotin.
