Thanks to the support of Open Society Institute from Budapest Network Committee for Human Rights in Serbia CHRIS, realises one-year project "Practice in the field of human rights ".
In the implementation of this project research is carried out on the problems of further social integration of Roma national minority in Serbia. Representatives of Network CHRIS have on June 10th and 11th, 2010. as part of research carried out by Alla Leukavets expert associate of Network CHRIS, had meetings with representatives of several institutions and organizations in Novi Sad.
Institution of Provincial ombudsman was visited in Novi Sad on Friday, June 11, 2010. by representatives of the Network Committee for Human Rights in Serbia CHRIS. CHRIS Network representatives were welcomed by the Deputy Provincial Ombudsman for the Protection of National Minorities, Eva Vukašinović, who pointed out possibility of exercising the right of citizens of Vojvodina in this area, as well as current problems and challenges of protecting and promoting human rights in Serbia through institutional mechanisms. In addition to the Provincial Ombudsman, representatives of the Network CHRIS were also received by Dusko Jovanovic, director of the Office for Roma Inclusion, Romeo Mihajlovic, senior Associate - project manager, who presented the work of the Office with the main aim of improving living and working conditions of Roma and Romani women in Vojvodina through orientation around areas of education, health, employment and housing.
CHRIS network, in addition to the Provincial Ombudsman and the Office for Roma Inclusion also visited Roma from Novi Sad.
