BETTER END OF MILLENIUM

BETTER END OF MILLENNIUM is another project of the Committee for Human Rights Negotin which aim was to introduce upcoming elections to the citizens, since the greatest number of topics was associated to the electoral rules and NGO activities. This project was carried out with the financial support of the Fund for an Open Society from Belgrade, as a series of 20 TV quiz programs. Viewers took part by solving the prize tasks in direct phone contact. Those who showed the highest level of knowledge received valuable prizes: books, video tapes, TV aerials for watching the Independent Television Negotin. Twenty programs broadcasted on the Independent Television consisted of five groups of topics: activities of NGOs, famous people from Negotin, human rights, culture, and independent media. In that way, among many others, programs on the Committee for Human Rights Negotin, Universal Declaration on Human Rights, Otpor, CeSID, electoral rules, campaign “Pencil of life”, Belgrade Centre of Human Rights and Dr Vojin Dimitrijevic, late journalist Slavko Ćuruvija, cartoonist Predrag Koraksić Corax, Association of Independent Media (ANEM) and Independent Television Negotin. In addition, there were programs on some famous persons from our culture and science: poet Jovan Dučić, Nobel Prize recipient Ivo Andrić, composer Stevan Stojanović Mokranjac and pioneer of electrification in Serbia, Đorđe Stanojević.
