Annuall prizes awarded for the fight against discrimination for 2009.

 

Coalition against Discrimination has established "Annual award for the fight against discrimination " as recognition for individuals, organizations, institutions, companies and the media which have in one year made most of the efforts in combating discrimination against minority and marginalized groups and contributed to improving equality of all citizens in Serbia. The winners are decided by the Coalition against discrimination on the basis of a proposals by the end of 2009. year, provided by individuals and organizations. Members of the Coalition against discrimination include: Center for Advanced Legal Studies, Civil Rights Defenders, Labris - Organization for Lesbian Human Rights, Anti-Trafficking Center, Network Committee for Human Rights (CHRIS network), Association of Students with Disabilities, Inclusion Initiative "VelikiMali" and Gayten LGBT.


"Awards for the fight against discrimination", are awarded for outstanding contribution in the fight against discrimination in Serbia every year since 2008. in five categories:


  • Media (public media, journalists, professional associations)
  • Public authorities (public institutions, parliamentarians, officials)
  • Civil society (NGOs, trade unions, professional associations)
  • Business sector (companies, business people)
  • Public figures (artists, sportsmen, actors, singers, politicians)

This year winners "Award for the fight against discrimination " for outstanding contribution in the fight against discrimination in 2009. year are:


  1. Media - RDP B92 Ltd.
  2. Public authorities - Marko Karadzic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights of Serbia and the Ministry Team of Labor and Social Policy of Republic of Serbia
  3. Civil society organizations - NGOs Peščanik
  4. Business sector-Telenor d.o.o
  5. Public figures - Nikola Đuričko, actor

On behalf of the winners in the category "Business Sector", company "Telenor Serbia doo" manager for external communications Ana Krstic said the following: "Telenor's long-term projects and the results are visible after a certain time and measurable, are encouragement for assisting in resolving difficulties that certain social groups encounter. The aim of many of our activities is to create an inclusive society to which we strive. We are proud to receive this award. This is yet another confirmation of our social responsibility work and more reason to start each subsequent project that may affect the awareness of discrimination and people who are daily struggling with the problem."
